The PCE-OM 15 is a handheld strobe tachometer for non-contact speed measurement from 50 to 30000 rpm. The flash is fired by a trigger. Two knobs give coarse and fine adjustment of the flash rate, push buttons halve (x½) or double (x2) it, and a switch selects the high or low range. Readings are shown on a 5-digit LCD with 10 mm / 0.4 in digits.

When the flash rate matches the speed of a moving part, the part appears to stand still. A slight offset shows it in apparent slow motion, so the process can be inspected while running.

Stroboscopes

Stroboscopes stroboscopes are measuring and inspection instruments that use intense, periodic flashes of light to make rapidly moving objects appear stationary or in slow motion. They are based on the phenomenon of persistence of vision, allowing the inspection of machinery in operation without interrupting the production process.

  • Functions: They allow measurement of revolutions per minute (RPM) and vibration frequency (Hz) without physical contact.
  • Applications: Ideal for checking belts, gears, fan blades, and motion analysis on packaging or printing lines.
  • Features: They have an adjustable flash frequency, an LCD display, and often a Phase Shift function for observing the object at different angles of motion.
