The PCE-127/4 is a DIN flow cup for measuring the viscosity of liquids to DIN 53211. Viscosity is calculated from the flow volume and the time the liquid needs to run through the nozzle. Timing starts as the liquid emerges at the lower edge of the nozzle and stops when the flow becomes uneven or breaks off. Only low-viscosity liquids can be measured; Newtonian liquids give the most accurate results.
An immersion cup version is also available for quick measurements on site: dip the cup, lift it out and start timing as the liquid leaves the nozzle. Clean the cup after every measurement; dried residues and scratches falsify the result.
