The PCE-RVI 2 is a rotational viscometer with an LC display. It measures viscosity from 1 ... 100,000 cP with an accuracy of <±2% of the range. Viscosity is derived from the mechanical resistance acting against the rotating spindle. Spindle speed is adjustable within 6 ... 60 RPM. Sample quantity is 250 ... 400 ml.
An immersion sensor measures sample temperature from 0 … 100 °C during the test. This suits fluids whose viscosity changes with heat, such as engine oils. Via RS232, optional PC software plots temperature and viscosity curves. Levelling feet and a bubble level keep the spindle vertical. Height adjusts by 25 cm in total.
