The PCE-A420 is a cup anemometer for measuring wind speed. Three cups on a vertical axis turn in the wind, so the reading does not depend on wind direction and the instrument does not have to be pointed into the flow. Range: 0.9 to 35 m/s or 2.5 to 126.0 km/h, resolution 0.1 m/s or 0.1 km/h. Readings can be shown in m/s, km/h, knots, miles/h or ft/min.

The 28 x 19 mm LC display shows MIN, MAX and HOLD values, and a 100-point data logger records readings. The IP 65 housing keeps out dust and moisture, and auto power-off saves the batteries. Use it for fast, precise wind checks close to the ground or for private weather data.

Anemometers

The anemometers are measuring instruments used to determine the speed and, in many cases, the direction of the wind. They are essential equipment for meteorology and industry, enabling accurate assessment of air masses and ensuring the safe operation of technical projects.

  • Types: They are classified into propeller (vane), anemometers with cups (cup), as well as thermal (hot-wire) or ultrasonic for high-sensitivity measurements.
