The PCE-CT 28 is a coating thickness gauge for paint and plastic layers on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It measures without damaging the coating surface. It covers non-magnetic coatings such as plastic, chrome, zinc and copper, and insulating layers such as rubber, plastic, glass and paper over steel, iron, aluminium, brass and stainless steel.

Typical uses are paint and lacquer work in production, automotive body repair and quality control. It also helps detect accident damage on vehicles and suits the naval and metal industries.

Coating Thickness Gauges

The coating thickness gauges (coating thickness gauges) are non-destructive testing instruments that measure the thickness of layers such as paint, varnish, or galvanizing on metal surfaces. Their operation is based on the principles of magnetic induction (for ferrous substrates) and eddy currents (eddy currents) for non-ferrous metals such as aluminum.
