The PCE-DRS 2 is a handheld digital refractometer for salinity, chloride content, specific density and refractive index of liquids. Ranges are salinity 0 to 100.00 %, chlorine 0 to 57 %, specific density 1.000 to 1.070 and refractive index 1.3330 to 1.3530 nD. Temperature compensation is automatic from 10 to 40 °C, and the large LCD also shows the sample temperature. Four to five drops are enough. An internal light source prevents the measuring errors that fluorescent lighting causes with analogue refractometers. Calibration needs only a few drops of distilled water and one button press.

Typical uses: brine, canned vegetables, soups, juices and other products in food production, de-icing agents in tram depots, sodium chloride content in saltwater aquariums, research, clinical laboratories and hobby use.
