The PCE-TG 300-P5EE is an ultrasonic thickness meter for wall thickness measurement on all homogeneous materials. The sound velocity is freely adjustable, so the meter can be matched to the material. Special sensors are available for damping or scattering materials such as plastic or cast, and a 90° angled sensor reaches hard-to-access measuring points.

Readings are shown on the TFT colour display. Different measuring points are stored in the internal memory and can be read out with optional software. Ultrasonic measurement is non-destructive, so finished products can be checked. Echo-echo mode also measures coated workpieces.

Ultrasonic Thickness Gauges

Ultrasonic thickness gauges are non-destructive testing (NDT) instruments that measure the thickness of materials with access from only one side. They operate by emitting high-frequency sound waves, which travel through the material, reflect off the back surface, and return to the sensor, calculating thickness based on the speed of sound propagation.

  • Applications: Ideal for measuring corrosion in piping, fuel tanks, ship hulls, and metal structures without interrupting their operation.
  • Materials: Suitable for metals, plastics, glass, ceramics, and composite materials, provided there is good sound conductivity.
  • Features: They include Echo-to-Echo functions for measurement through paint and automatic compensation for different material temperatures.
