The PCE-WS CR is a wind speed sensor for fixed installation. It measures wind speed from 2.62 ... 164.04 ft/s, 0.8 ... 50 m/s. Depending on the version, the output is 4 ... 20 mA, 0 ... 10 V, Modbus or pulse. The star-shaped rotor works independently of wind direction.

The housing is robust plastic, so it resists rust and corrosion, and is rated IP 54. Its design also shields the sensor against high-frequency and electromagnetic radiation. A 65 ft, 20 m connection cable is supplied as standard; a stainless steel mounting kit is optional. Typical uses: wind warning systems, building services, building automation and home technology.

Anemometers

The anemometers are measuring instruments used to determine the speed and, in many cases, the direction of the wind. They are essential equipment for meteorology and industry, enabling accurate assessment of air masses and ensuring the safe operation of technical projects.

  • Types: They are classified into propeller (vane), anemometers with cups (cup), as well as thermal (hot-wire) or ultrasonic for high-sensitivity measurements.
  • Applications: They are used in navigation, monitoring HVAC systems, construction cranes, wind farms, and air sports.
  • Features: Modern digital anemometers provide measurements in multiple units (m/s, knots, km/h) and often calculate air flow (CMM/CFM) and temperature.
