Accuracy

Accuracy

Accuracy shows how close a measured value is to the real (true) value of the quantity. If the true length is 50.00 mm and the instrument reads 50.02 mm, the error is 0.02 mm. The smaller the error, the more accurate the instrument. Accuracy is what matters most in practice, how close the measurement sits to the true value.
