The PCE-430-EKIT class I sound level meter meets all the requirements of standards and guidelines (IEC 60651:1979, IEC 60804:2000, IEC 61672-1:2013, ANSI S1.4-1983 and ANSI S1.43-1997). Its large illuminated display shows the sound pressure level (SPL) numerically and graphically in real time. At the same time, as a spectrum analyzer, the display also shows the sound frequency thanks to the 1/1 octave band function, which detects even the slightest frequency difference.
It can also operate as a recorder for up to 24h, storing data on a micro SD card. The meter can also be connected to a computer via the USB port and comes with software for further data processing. The impulse function of the PCE-430 allows measurement of very short duration sound events. Finally, the built-in octave band filter function also makes it a sound dosimeter, providing sound intensity as a function of frequency. A typical application of the PCE-430 sound dosimeter is measuring noise in workplaces during an 8-hour shift for regulatory compliance.
The special feature of the PCE-430-EKIT traffic noise meter is the outdoor accessories. Thus, the measuring device is delivered in such a way that it can be installed and operated permanently or temporarily outdoors, i.e., directly on high-traffic roads. The road noise measurement kit consists of a waterproof plastic case, a windshield for the class 1 measurement microphone, batteries, and a charger for the batteries. Therefore, the sound level meter can easily measure and record traffic noise for several days on a road.
PCE-4xx-EKIT
An additional kit for outdoor sound measurement PCE-4xx-EKIT can be combined with the sound level meters PCE-428, 430, or PCE-432. This kit makes it possible to measure outdoor noise with a sound level meter for a long period. The environmental noise monitoring system consists of a waterproof Peli transport case with rollers. A charger and two additional lead gel batteries have been placed in this case, which allow the sound meter to operate for up to 10 days. During outdoor sound measurement, the case can remain closed. Due to the external connections for the microphone and the power supply, all electronic components are protected from water.
The screen insulation provides protection from wind and rain, and the microphone windshield isolates the measurement from the effect of wind. The charger of the PCE-4xx-EKIT kit is waterproof and can remain outdoors. Also, a tripod is available with which the microphone can be placed outdoors.
The PCE -4xx–EKIT can be used for noise measurement in critical areas such as road surfaces in residential areas, airports, depots, as well as for measuring acoustic events.
